Your library is yours. Here's exactly how we handle it.
This Privacy Policy describes how Vulu LLC ("Vulu," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Vulu personal video library service, including the Vulu web app at vulutv.com / app.vulutv.com, the "Save to Vulu" browser extension, and any related services (collectively, the "Service").
If you have questions, contact us at privacy@vulutv.com.
When you create a Vulu account, we collect your email address and (if you sign up with email/password) a securely hashed password via Firebase Authentication. If you sign in with Google, Google provides your email and a unique identifier; we do not receive your Google password.
When you save a video to your library, we receive and store: the source URL you saved from, the video file itself, an extracted title, the video duration, the platform of origin, and a category you assign. We also stamp a creation timestamp and your account ID on the record so you (and only you) can see your library.
We record when you start, pause, and finish watching videos in your library so we can resume playback where you left off and surface "recently watched" rails. This data is associated with your account and not shared with anyone.
We log capture attempts (success/failure category, platform, timing) and service errors so we can diagnose and fix problems. Telemetry does not include the video bytes themselves, your password, or your browsing activity outside the Service.
If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment processing is handled by Stripe. Vulu receives a subscription status and your billing email; we do not store your full payment card data. Stripe's privacy practices are described at stripe.com/privacy.
The extension is a separate component with its own data handling:
We use the information described above to:
We do not sell your personal information. We do not show you advertising. We do not train machine learning models on the contents of your videos.
Vulu's infrastructure runs on Google Cloud Platform (Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions) and is hosted primarily in the us-central1 region. Sub-processors we currently use:
We keep your account data and saved videos for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual videos at any time from your library. If you delete your account, we delete your account record, your saved videos, and your watch history within thirty (30) days, except where we are required by law to retain certain records (for example, payment records for tax purposes).
Operational logs and capture telemetry are kept for up to ninety (90) days for debugging purposes, then automatically purged.
You have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@vulutv.com. We'll respond within thirty (30) days.
We encrypt data in transit (HTTPS / TLS) and at rest (Google Cloud's default encryption). Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication. We use industry-standard security practices, but no internet service can guarantee 100% security; if a breach occurs, we will notify affected users without undue delay as required by applicable law.
Vulu is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where required by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact privacy@vulutv.com and we will delete it.
Vulu respects copyright. If you believe content saved to a Vulu library infringes your copyright, you may submit a DMCA takedown notice to our registered DMCA agent. See our DMCA policy for the required notice format and contact details.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify registered users by email at least thirty (30) days before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
